Teresa Jones
Teresa Jones is a resident of Colorado who writes children’s books and adult biographies. As a classroom teacher, she is passionate for American history and brings history to life by introducing students to real human stories. During a visit to the Frontier Museum in Glenwood Springs she discovered a journal entry written by a pioneer woman who met an Ute Indian Chief. He told her a memory he had from his early days of hunting in the vicinity of the Great Yampa Springs which the Utes knew as “eternal hot bubbling springs.” His Ute clan had adopted two white children, a girl with yellow hair and her younger brother. Thus a fictional portrayal of his life in the 1800’s and Teresa Jones’` first novel was born. Teresa continues to travel far and wide, seeking an understanding of those who lived in the past. She hikes, bikes and writes of her experiences in foreign countries and North America. While teaching in Australia for one year, she gained an appreciation of Aboriginal Australians.
